Questions parents ask
Is it really free right now?
Yes. The beta is free, there is no card at signup, and nothing renews. Prices for the paid plans are not set yet, and when they are we will tell beta families first and ask before charging anyone.
How is this different from a human tutor?
A good private tutor is wonderful, but they are expensive and you only get the hour you booked, on their schedule. TutorLumi is there every night homework happens, remembers everything from last time, and never runs out of patience. Many families use both.
Won’t my child just get the answers?
That is the thing we designed hardest against. The tutor works through the method and hands the actual question back. If a child asks outright for the answer, it asks them a question instead.
Which subjects and years?
Years 3 to 11, following the UK national curriculum, with content grounded in Oak National Academy lessons. Core subjects are strongest; the tutor will teach almost anything a child asks about.
What does my child see when they move up a year?
Otter looks after Years 3 to 6 and Lyra takes over from Year 7, automatically, in September. Same account, same history, different voice and tools.
